Building the kennels

We built our purpose built Chiang Mai American Bully kennels from scratch. Our first concern was to pour our concrete floor with absolutely no cracks. One of the most important aspects of running a successful kennel is cleanliness. We integrated a drainage system that leads to a seep tank so that we can easily hose down the whole area. All our enclosures are raised off the floor so we regularly hose down the building. Our kennels are spotlessly clean and that is the starting point for great healthy dogs.

We raised a roof to protect the dogs from the elements and here in Northern Thailand that includes both heavy downpours of rain as well as high temperatures. We paid great attention to providing excellent natural ventilation. Our roof also incorporates a spray system that creates a fabulous cooling mist to ensure that the dogs remain comfortable even on the hottest days. There are air conditioning units as well which can be used as required.

The Dog Houses

Each dog has a separate dog house in a shared room. The dogs are able to see out and the height of the enclosures is perfect for them to stand up and take a look around.

The enclosures are very solid and are raised off the floor to allow air circulation as well as easy cleaning. Each house has a special rubberized mat that is comfortable and easily cleaned.

Outside Area

The kennels are in a big enclosed garden. There are exercise pens that allow the dogs to run free. We have several enclosures so that we can keep the dogs in groups as necessary.  It is great that we can let them roam around safely with little supervision.

The rest of the garden is used mainly for training purposes. There is plenty of room to walk and run the dogs.

We also have various apparatus available to help with getting the dogs in tip top condition especially for shows. Our walking treadmill provides exercise and also helps us to train the dogs to walk well.
